El contexto que mueve la conversación
While Minecraft players have technically been able to “sit” for years by riding minecarts, boats, saddled animals, and other entities, the game has never had a simple item designed purely for sitting. That is now changing, with Mojang confirming cushions can be placed in the world and interacted with to sit on.

Minecraft adds cushions that let players sit down

In Mojang’s new “Sit Down! New Features Incoming!” video, developers said players have spent the last 17 years solving the sitting problem through “boats and minecarts and other things,” but cushions will finally offer a straightforward way to place something down and take a seat.
“The cushion is a new feature that actually allows our players to sit,” Mojang explained, adding that it comes in 16 different colors and can be placed on all kinds of blocks.
According to the official Snapshot and Preview notes, cushions are crafted using three wool slabs of the same color. They can be placed on any flat surface, do not have collision, cannot move, and break if the supporting block underneath them is removed.
The update is especially notable because Minecraft’s community has spent years inventing working chair designs using the game’s existing mounting mechanics. One of the most common tricks involves hiding a minecart inside a stair block, allowing players to right-click the disguised cart and snap into a seated position.
Other builds use saddled pigs stuck in the floor, boats, or invisible armor stands to create the illusion of a functional chair, especially on servers and custom maps. The cushion effectively turns one of Minecraft’s longest-running player-made workarounds into an official feature.
The same game drop also adds straw beds, which let players sleep through the night without resetting their spawn point. Unlike regular beds, straw beds break after being used and are crafted using three hay bales, producing four straw beds.
The new features are currently available through Minecraft’s latest testing builds, with Mojang continuing to roll out the dappled forest update through Java snapshots and Bedrock previews.44:Teba, <a href="https:/
