Timothée Chalamet dice Anya Taylor-Joy is “genuinely terrifying” in Dune: Part Three

We're just closing in on the third and final part of the Dune trilogy, and in a new interview about the forthcoming sci-fi epic, Timothée Chalamet says his co-star Anya Taylor-Joy is both "breathtaking" and "genuinely terrifying" in the movie.

During a global fan event for Dune: Part III, Warner Bros. debuted a new trailer (see below), plus the first few minutes of the film, which play like a sci-fi Saving Private Ryan.

Anya Taylor-Joy plays Paul Atreides' sister Alia in Dune: Part Three, and when Chalamet was asked about his cast-mates, he had specific praise for her performance.

"Anya is something special in this movie," explained Chalamet. "Maybe it was Linus [Sandgren]'s cinematography style, or Denis' direction, but I think the first day Anya stepped on set – I didn't really get to work with her on the second one – just visually, it was breathtaking, and she's unbelievable in this movie. That's not hyperbole. She's actually terrifying."

Taylor-Joy wasn't the only one receiving their flowers during the event, as Villeneuve also talked up the work of the actor sitting next to him.

"I would say that I'm really looking [forward] for you all to see what Timothée did in this film. It's really impressive. It's like, in the first movies, you have a boy discovering a planet, and once someone becomes an adult, now he really did create something very special. I was very impressed by what Timothée brought to the movie."

Dune: Part Three hits screens on December 18, 2026, while that early footage will play before 70mm IMAX screenings of The Odyssey when that film hits screens next week, on July 17.46:Tdc6,
