A fitness company in Singapore is helping senior citizens stay mobile in the wildest way, by enrolling them in parkour classes so they can prevent any dangerous falls and gain confidence in their movement.
As you get older , it’s only natural to begin losing some of your mobility. Your back aches (at the ripe old age of 26 for some people…), knees begin creaking, your strength drops, and at some point most find themselves a little worried about the consequences of a fall.
Well, that doesn’t always mean you can’t do anything to prevent it, as exercise and strength-based activities are a perfect way to keep yourself nimble. Well, that’s exactly what one Singapore company is doing, enrolling adults aged 50 – 70 into parkour classes to ensure they “stay agile” and “fall unharmed.”
Now it’s worth mentioning, company Movement Singapore isn’t exactly training 50-70-year-olds to jump across buildings like old Edward Kenway in Assassin’s Creed, but they are training them to perfect their own version of parkour.
Using mobility exercises, training to help you safely break your fall, obstacle courses, and even swinging under railings or hopping between two raised platforms, Movement Singapore essentially uses ‘Geriatric Parkour’ to enable the older generation to feel more confident in their movements as well as increase their strength.

And the challenges they put their customers through are truly impressive. Some are expertly jumping from platform to platform before rolling on the ground, climbing bars, vaulting over barriers, and climbing poles, at 62 years old!
The company has been active since 2018 and has already reportedly helped a ton of people gain confidence, stability, agility, and the ability to climb the stairs without pain or right themselves after a fall with no injury.
