Ludwig has revealed that the editors behind his YouTube channel earn “hundreds of thousands” of dollars a year, giving aspiring creators at Streamer University an eye-opening look at the true cost of producing content.
The streamer shared the figures during a conversation with student creator Yusuf, explaining that many smaller creators underestimate how much they need to pay if they want a dedicated editor handling every aspect of their videos.
Discussing the realities of hiring editors, Ludwig said creators often expect one person to take on a full-time workload without paying enough to justify it.
“If you’re doing a video every week, sometimes maybe it’s 38 hours, sometimes maybe 58 hours in a week, and you’re making 50k a year before taxes, that’s what you paid the guy,” he explained.
“You’re saying, ‘Devote your life to me, full time, I’ll pay you 50k a year.'”
He said creators have two options: pay one editor enough to justify a full-time role, or split the work between multiple people so each editor has time to take on other projects.
“So if you want someone who does it all, then you gotta pay them. Or you get multiple people, and their workload is small enough that they can do other work.”
Ludwig then revealed how much his own team earns. “You know what my editors make Hundreds of thousands. All of them. I give a % of what the video makes as well.”
The conversation took place during Streamer University , where Ludwig has been mentoring aspiring creators and offering behind-the-scenes advice on building a successful content business.
