In his first upload, Cage revealed he placed the tick in a glass of water, and after five days, it was still swimming around.

By the end of the week, the tick appeared dead, but after poking it, it started moving again, prompting the YouTuber to remove fibers that were preventing it from being its most active.

On day 9, Cage upped the ante, deciding to blast music at the tick, explaining that he had heard that if you play Mozart to babies, they grow up to become geniuses.

“By that logic, if I played the opposite of Mozart, I’d be able to destroy the tick’s mind, rendering it mentally sterile and incapable of reproduction,” he said, adding that he risked reawakening the tick’s brain.

After playing some mediocre music on big speakers, he moved the tick to a new dish and saw that he began to start moving once more.

In his most recent video, Cage placed the tick in a freezer for 24 hours, and while it wasn’t showing any signs of life, the YouTuber noted that death was a “gift that the tick has not earned and a gift that can be revoked.”

The viral tick saga has been viewed millions of times so far, but Instagram seems to be the biggest contributor, with some comments on his videos receiving over 50,000 likes.
