YouTube copies Netflix with new seasons and shows
According to YouTube, viewers will be able to watch shows and pick up where they left off on any device.
YouTube states this new format will be ideal for episodic content and will give creators a “polished TV experience for your series.”
The platform has additional details on its website, explaining that a show is considered “a collection of high-quality episodes with a clear connection across episodes.”
The main idea is that the program is consistent, utilizing the same characters or hosts, the same intro, format, and thumbnails.
Furthermore, creators can choose whether their show is serial or non-serial if they recommend that viewers watch videos in a specific order.
Interface-wise, it looks nearly identical to browsing a series on Netflix, so anyone familiar with the UI should feel right at home.
This addition comes as YouTube continues to add new features and push users to subscribe to its Premium plan. In June, the platform implemented a special time-saving feature that automatically speeds up videos without sacrificing comprehension while also increasing the cost of Premium.46:T1105, YouTube users
