Streaming star Asmongold has urged Twitch to crack down on driving-based streams after ExtraEmily copped another ban for dangerous driving.
Por qué esta historia importa ahora
For the most part, Twitch is home to streamers who sit at their computer and show off their gaming skills. However, it has increasingly become a place where you can watch people go about their daily lives too through IRL streaming.
El contexto que mueve la conversación
That includes watching them drive in their cars too. Some streamers, including ExtraEmily and StableRonaldo have caught bans in the past for dangerous driving. This has seen Twitch switch up their rules on what streamers can and can’t do behind the wheel - including responding to chat.
Qué puede pasar después
On June 29, ExtraEmily received her third ban relating to a driving stream from the day before, as she appeared distracted and almost hit another vehicle. She did apologize for it immediately, but her channel is still suspended.

Asmongold urges Twitch to ban driving on stream
The clip of the near-collision has sparked renewed calls from creators who want to see Twitch further crack down on driving broadcasts.
That includes Asmongold. “Ngl they need to just ban streaming and driving entirely. Want to stream yourself going somewhere? Get an Uber or have someone else drive,” he posted on X (formerly Twitter).
“At best it is a neutral effect, at worst, it causes accidents and kills people. Pretty easy logical decision.”
“Every single person who streams and drives should be perma-banned,” YouTuber Jesse Cox said. “Cars are dangerous machines and if someone dies, the lawsuit against twitch will kill the site.”
Popular streamer and Minecraft YouTuber InTheLittleWood added: “There should be an outright ban on streaming while driving, period. Want to irl and move between locations? Get a driver.”
“Drivers are terrible and dangerous enough when they aren’t streaming. This should never be encouraged or allowed on Twitch,” DansGaming also suggested.
As noted, Twitch’s Community Guidelines prohibit dangerous or distracted driving while streaming, and streamers can’t touch streaming equipment while operating a vehicle.
It remains to be seen if Twitch will, in fact, outright ban driving streams altogether or implement another rule change.48:T14b2, Streaming star Asmo
