Androgenic claims Connor Murphy “fixated” on gold before his death
Following Murphy’s death, fellow looksmaxxer Androgenic claimed the YouTuber had developed an obsession with gold during his final weeks.
“He started to get this fixation on gold,” Androgenic said in a clip shared on X, claiming Murphy believed ingesting the mineral could provide “special powers.”
“He started to believe that gold was some gatekept mineral by the higher-ups that basically gives you special powers if you ingest it,” Androgenic remarked. "Like you get the ability to tap into other dimensions and high levels of consciousness and stuff. A few weeks later, he started the experiment. He was injecting gold.”
“He was just crazy… He was painting his house with gold. He ended up covered in his own blood, running around his neighborhood screaming, and then the police were called, and then the police chased him down, he ran into the lake, tried to escape, and we know what happened. Rest in Peace.”
The looksmaxxer also claimed Murphy was “covered in discolouration from gold poisoning,” though this has not been confirmed by doctors or Thai authorities.
Two unused syringes had reportedly been found on the front seat of Murphy’s car, along with unidentified white pills inside a waist bag. Investigators have not connected either discovery to the gold allegation or determined whether any substance contributed to his death.
Androgenic said Murphy had bipolar disorder and his friends had become increasingly worried about his behavior.
Murphy had built an audience of more than 2.4 million YouTube subscribers through bodybuilding, prank, and fitness content before becoming associated with the looksmaxxing community.
His body was sent to Ramathibodi Chakri Naruebodindra Hospital for further examination. A full autopsy and toxicology testing remain pending.48:T179b, Looksmaxxing YouTuber Con
