Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 star turned to Twitch streaming tras getting no acting offers

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 star Luke Dale says the game's huge success hasn't led to more acting work, and he has instead found success livestreaming video games on Twitch.

Dale played Sir Hans Capon in both Kingdom Come: Deliverance games, a bratty but heroic noble and eventual best friend (or romantic option) of the protagonist, Henry. His performance was widely praised (including in our 5/5 review), and the second game was a huge hit.

However, speaking to Firezide Chat, he said, "I wish I could say that Kingdom Come 2, the work I've done and the fact it's been played by millions of people led to more work, but it didn't."

Other than playing Hans, he has worked on a VR game called TaVRn's Takedown – Naheulbeuk and played "a random scout soldier" in Battlefield V "10 years ago."

"I always hedge my bets because I don't think the industry has been particularly kind to me," he explained. "Warhorse have been absolute gems. They're so supportive and really believed in me the whole way through. But the industry at large has never really given a f**k."

Instead, Dale has found success streaming video games on Twitch as LukeDaleLive, which has over 70,000 followers at the time of writing.

"I thought, 'How can I turn this into something really cool for me?' That's where streaming came in. I thought, 'People seem to want me to do it, so let's do that.'

"If more acting work comes from this, great, but I'm not going to rely on that. I know people want me to stream, and I can build a community here if I choose to and work really hard. So I did, and that's worked incredibly well. I'm really proud of that, and it's an absolute joy to do now."

First, he played through Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and has now completed Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring, and has done a sponsored Starfield stream.

His next big dream is to run a bar in Prague, and he's still auditioning for acting roles. And of course, Warhorse are working on the next Kingdom Come adventure (and an open-world Lord of the Rings game), so we may see more of Hans Capon.45:
