IShowSpeed offers to play for India to get them to next World Cup

Throughout 2026’s iteration of the tournament, Speed has questioned why India, a country that he visited back in 2023, didn’t qualify for the World Cup. During the Spain vs Belgium game, he offered to help them out himself.

Speed was streaming during the Quarter-Final between Spain and Belgium when a question from the chat mentioned India. In response, Speed made it clear he’d be willing to play for them.

“India do need some help. I’ll play for India. I’ll help y’all make it to the next World Cup,” he said. “Hey India, if y’all want to make it to the next World Cup, Speed’s right here.”

KSI, who was watching the game beside him, asked him where he would play. The American streamer responded: “I’ll play winger. Winger, striker or midfield.”

KSI laughed and asked if he meant he’d play everywhere, but Speed responded with a more specific position in mind. “I feel like I’m the position right under the striker,” he said. “I feel like I’m an attacking midfielder.”

Though FIFA rules about heritage and citizenship would almost certainly make it impossible for Speed to play for them, regardless of his footballing ability, having a celebrity fan as big as Speed could help India in other ways.
