Costco food court coffee is “just like” Starbucks but cheaper and fans are delighted

One of Costco’s most-popular food court items has started rolling out to other stores in the United States, and fans can’t believe it is “half the price” of a trip to Starbucks.

For some Costco shoppers, the fun is in exploring the aisles upon aisles of bulk buys. You can buy massive quantities of items that will last you weeks, meaning you won’t have to take a trip to a store for a while.

Others, however, are more focused on Costco’s food court. The price of their iconic hot dogs is a fiercely defended topic, while other customers have travelled around the world sampling what other warehouses have to offer.

One customer, Redditor ComputerWorlds, couldn’t believe how it tastes exactly like Starbucks’ Frappuccino, but comes in at “half the cost” of a Starbies trip.

“It’s my new favorite from the food court and glad they added this to the offerings. I also like the strawberry banana smoothie,” they said.

Some other fans noted that it’s their favorite too, but were shocked to learn that some warehouses are only just getting it on their menus.

“It's because Costco beans are roasted by Starbucks,” one said. “I wanna say these have been around for quite a while. I’m glad you discovered it though!” another added. “They had these at my location when I was in high school 10 years ago!” another commented.

Some, however, are unsure just how much caffeine is in each drink. "I remember someone emailing Costco asking what the caffeine amount is and it was like 340mg of caffeine," one said. "Cold Brew Latte Freeze (not the Mocha): 470 calories, 96 grams of sugar," a moderator added.

The slow change in Costco’s food court menus has caused a little bit of envy from some customers.

Chicken tenders have been tested at select locations in the Chicagoland area, while others in California still have popular hot dog toppings that haven’t been available for a few years elsewhere.
